Topic: Privacy for users, transparency for infrastructure: Nym’s approach to privacy

Summary: A group of students in the final year of the telecommunications degree at the public University of Cuenca held a workshop that:

  • We talked about privacy, the importance of seeing it as a right and external surveillance.
  • Explanation of how the mixnet works, nym token, incentives.
  • Nodes and how to operate and set one up
  • Nym community.
  • NymVpn.

Hey @rocio.gonzalez.toral, thanks for the report and the event! Can you say a bit more about the participants? How many were there? Did any of them join the Squad League or set up nodes? Maybe some new squads or squad members? :slight_smile:

Hi @sudonym, There were 7 students, 2 teachers and 3 from BWNYM Squad (Gelois, Paul and Me). During the presentation they showed a lot of interest in the topic and our NymVPN, which some of them have already installed because they wrote to me asking for help with the activation of NymVPN with the credential. 2 students showed interest in the community, in the next few weeks we will hold other talks for other courses and careers in the technical area in this public university.
